In reply to Prozac Withdrawel - HELP!!, posted by stillLD on February 12, 2003, at 11:29:06
LD,
Why not withdraw slowly instead of going cold turkey? Reduce the Prozac dose by half for a week or so and then half again. Because of the long half life Prozac is supposed to be easier to get off of, but if you've been on it for so long it is still can be really difficult.

Its been 6 days since i've taken my prozac, and I was under the understanding that w/drawing from prozac was pretty easy....that it would slowly leave my system and w/drawal wasnt too bad. (I have in the past w/drawn from Effexor- nothing can be like that hell). Well i'm starting to have shocks today; and that horrible crying depressed/suicidal feeling again. Is this just withdrawal??? Should I ride it out??? And how long should I expect it to last? Should I take one more prozac to lessen these effects?
