Hello,
How long were you taking 10 mg. Celexa?
If you go to any of the SSRI, SNRI (Effexor), or other serotonergic drug boards at the RxList site, you will find that many people that have gone off of these drugs complain of rage problem. Even the nurse at my doctor's office complained of this when we talked about Celexa. She said she wanted to blow up over little things, only a few days after stopping the Celexa.
I had the same experience when I discontinued Celexa-it took about 4 to 7 days-when this rage problem occured. I was taking 20 mg for about 4 months. By week two it was so bad (emotional rollercoaster) I went back on Celexa, but started to take 20mg every other day.
You might consider changing your Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) from fish oil source to another source, such as borage oil, grape seed oil, and primrose oil. The difference being that fish oil contains omega-3 EFAs (including alpha-linolenic and eicosapentaenoic acid), to vegetable, legume, and nut oils containing omega-6 EFAs, which includes linoleic and gamma-linolenic acids.
I don't know how long the rage will last. If it is a withdrawal symptom, then it should go away eventually.
You might consider taking L-tyrosine amino acid supplement. Also, taurine supplement as well as a vitamin B complex (3 a day dosage) may be of help. Take the amino acids between meals on an empty stomach, separately. Ask your doctor about it.
