Hi ThereYes I can relate to you in the same exact way when it comes to girls. It is very hard for those of with SAD to approach or talk to people we do not know. I would usually sweat a lot, heart beating fast, mess up my words when this happened. Ever since I used Nardil I am more calm, it is like my brain slows down and thinks of what to say to people. I use to just laugh everything off and not talk. It also has given more confidence.
Unfortunately you might not find any relief from an SSRI, a lot of doctors won't prescribe MAOI because of the potential risk of a hypertensive crisis which are usually quite rare.
Sex with a girl might be the hardest thing to imagine for a SAD male (I know it is for me) but with Nardil it doesn't seem so hard to accomplish anymore hehe... When girls look at me, I will look back, I won't be afraid and cower my head down... I can start conversations even if they are short now also...
Anorgasmia is when you can't get an orgasm, it really sucked too. I went without one for 4 months, but after the first month I kind of got use to it.. I do notice a little loss in libido also.. maybe it's because I am not a teenager anymore but I only masturbate about 5x a week...
Can you check for a doctor willing to let you try MAOI? I happened to get lucky I feel with my doctor, he let me choose Nardil or Paxil. I read hellish nightmares about Paxil and withdrawl on the internet so even with the diet restrictions I chose Nardil......
