If you are at risk of being pushed into a full blown mania by the Effexor, then it may be necessary to discontinue the Effexor ASAP and just put up with the possible withdrawal side effects. The withdrawal side effects, if any, will likely subside in a week or less. Or you might be one of the lucky ones that do not experience the withdrawal effects.
