Hi Jason-
I've been on Effexor XR for about 6 months now. I too started at 37.5 then went to 75mgs. I've been on 150 mgs. for about 3 weeks now. I have never experienced any of the brain shocks or brain shivers that many others are experiencing.

As many will attest to, with these types of meds "your mileage may vary".

I've seen from others' posts that these effects seem most pronounced when doses are skipped or when trying to get off of Effexor. I myself have missed doses without experiencing anything more than mild dizziness.

The benefits of Effexor for me have been exceptional. Prozac pooped out on me after my second time around and Zoloft made me fat and stupid.

Just my 2 cents. Best of luck . Keep us posted.
