I'm severely anxious - OCD GAD, SP, and Panic Attacks, Ace I thank you for your response, so encouraging, you mentioned something, that until now I hadn't give much thought, (although looking back I think it was there) you said you also suffered depersonalization, Let me give some background before I ask a question if I may, last time I came off medications was associated with a horrible period in personal life, and I expected this time that when I started coming off of Effexor, it would only add to the anxiety I was already experiencing, the opposite happened, I felt no anxiety, but I also felt like I had lost touch with myself somehow, like my mind was a house, and many of the rooms had vanished, i don't know how to describe it, but Ace, I was wondering, my psychiarist wants me to just stay on the reduced dose of effexor and be happy with where I am, but I know my potential, and I want to try nardil, but this depersonalization frightens me, I think I associated the reduction in medication with the trauma I experiencesd last time I tried to reduce medication, (my theory) at that time, I was in a n unheathly environment, and I ended up burning myself with an iron to ward off suicidal thoughts. I'm just wondering as to what I can expect as far as piecing together my personality, should I push forward with the nardil, the time is right, I'm positioned to know if the nardil will work by the time I have to start school, and I have a very supportive underwstanding work environment, I've just feel dumb, and numb, a foreign feeling, I've always been neurotic, or drunk on pills, now I'm coming off them and I feel better, this isn't normal, it's just not. Do you have any suggestions, thanks so much for your imput.Cheers, - I think highly anxious people have a lot to contribute, and can be intelligent, it's just channeling that raw intellect with the right meds or psychological/med treatment combo.
