...psychopharmacologist. Long word, but these are people who specialize in the MEDS, they're scientists of a sort, not docs, and having consulted one I can say that they know their stuff. At least the one I spoke to did. She knew so much about med INTERACTIONS that my pdoc at the time was UNAWARE of it was incredible.
I don't know the difference in cost or if psychopharmacologists are covered by insurance (these are not issues for me right now and it's not worth getting into why not) -- but I would suggest that anyone who is having trouble finding a pdoc they like, trust, feel comfortable with, etc. go this route.Just a suggestion.
