PARNATE and NAUSEA

Posted by polarbear206 on May 10, 2003, at 6:43:46

Hi everyone,

Took a long break from posting here. Family life has been very hectic this time of year.

I have finally started the drug that I probably should of been on long ago. My new pdoc has been great and very open to my suggestions.

I washed out paxil with no problems. I weined down on imipramine from 100mg to 50mg over a 2 week period. That went very well too.

I sent an e-mail to Dr. Goldberg (Depression Central web site) about staying on a low dose of imipramine while adding parnate. He said this was safe to do as long as I washed out the paxil over a 10 day period.

This past wednesday my pdoc gave me the green light to start the parnate at 10mg the first week, then up to 20mg week 2, then up to 30mg. He assumed I was off the imipramine for 2 weeks, but I didn't tell him that I stayed on 50mg. I started the parnate on wednesday, then stopped the imipramine on thursday. I noticed right away I was able to get up in the morning and have motivation to start my day. this is very welcoming! My only problem is I have having intermittent nausea. Vomited a couple of times too. Has anyone had nausea with initial start of parnate? I'm also thinking that the nausea could be from stopping the imipramine at 50mg when I started the parnate
I have no appetite. I eat very little. Keeping myself hydrated with H2O and ice chips.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Polarbear
