I loved the magnesium effect for relaxation and it quelled my temper. But, after 10 days it started causing sleep disruption. I read on the Mg website that this is called type II insomnia(if there is such a thing). The advice was to take your last dose of 400 mg of Mg AND 500 mg of Ca. I have gone down to about 50 mg of Mg plus some Ca and don't have a good effect anymore. I have had rebound insomnia and I am sad that the Mg didn't work out. It calmed me better than a benzo. I don't know if it matters what type you take. I took/take magnesium citrate. I am getting some benadryl tonight. What was the dose you took? I had fish oil cause sleep disruption too. Ever tried that? Don't know why, I wish someone could explain it to me. take care
