Hi Judy,

Can you please relay any details of the major supplements to treat depression and anxiety and the major scientifically backed up findings?

im esp interested in magnesium, fish oil, 5-htp... but please add any others that seem to do well.

Cheers!

> "Non-Pharmaceutical Approaches to mental Disorders" and it was absolutely fascinating. A lot of information on herbs and nutritional remedies- presented by some well-respected psychiatrists. B complex vitamins, folic acid, magnesium deficiency causing anxiety, depression, allergies; zinc healing bulimia (UCLA professor of Psychiatry), EFA's (Omega-3's for bipolar) and on and on. Lots to process- but 2 things stuck in my brain- the U.S. uses 90% of the world's ritalin supply and 48% of psychiatrists take psychotropic meds. This isn't an anti-med post, I take meds- meds have saved my life and ruined it at times- I just think there should be some type of med and natural remedy coexistance- they really do compliment each other. And if I can cut down the side effects by reducing the dose of a psychotropic med and adding vitamons or minerals or herbs, I guess I just see positive outcomes. I'll try to answer anything I can- dose, etc. but this was a very intense 2 days. Take care, judy
