Yes, it does have that reputation. Remeron can be extremely effective for a smaller range of people.
It does have troublesome effects on start up. For those taking these drugs for the first time, horrible start up effects can turn a patient against treatment.

I personally didn't find it as effective as Celexa but from the feel of it, I can imagine those who might.
