Effexor For Children?

Has anyone have children that have used Effexor? I have an 8 year old...our doctor is trying to convince my wife and I that Effexor will help him with his anxiety.
If you fit this category, please let me know. Let me know how your child has done, and if there were any side effects. Also, please let me know if the medicine helped. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
