Yup. Some gain weight on a particular drug while others lose weight or stay the same weight.
I gained weight on lithium and Remeron and nothing I did could get it off. I could only maintain the large size I was (had become) by swimming for an hour 3x/week.
Getting on Wellbutrin caused remarkable weight loss. Serzone seemed to help also. I went from a size 18 down to a size 12 pair of jeans. I just didn't feel like eating, and didn't. It was great. No need to "try" to exercise it off.But now I'm off Serzone and on Zoloft since September. Have gone back up to a size 16 jean. Also I don't or have not exercised. Now that the weather is nicer, I want to try walking more.
All of this weight gain and loss is troubling. I loved the weight loss and hated the weight gain. But in both cases I was still not feeling well.
Now that I am taking Zoloft with the Wellbutrin, I feel much better emotionally and am beginning to think that the added girth is worth feeling better. I would not trade it for less weight but more dis-ease. I just need to figure out how to lose it the old fashioned way, I guess.
