mega-doses of vitamins are like drugs, basically, since they are usually of a much higher dose than could reasonably be obtained through the diet, and they should be thought of as such. some people tolerate them but get little effect, some people swear by them (at least as adjuncts) and some people don`t even tolerate the low-dose variety.
other than that, if you really think you need a supplement and can`t tolerate pills, i think larry is right that you may have better luck with a liquid supplement with as few additional ingredients as possible. they taste very nasty, are often a bit more expensive, but are better absorbed and you may tolerate them better... in addition, i have a friend with a similar problem (and then some; he is allergic to ALL fruits and veggies unless heated above 120 degrees F so he actually does need a supplement) and what he does is he takes the liquid and pours it into the water he uses to make cream of wheat or oatmeal in the morning, and he says it actually tastes pretty good).
