(Your Celexa idea is awesome Ritch...just wondering why not Lex?) Thank you SOO Much! Why not Lex? $$$ If you find the Celexa works fine (first), then you can flip to generic citalopram and save yourself some cash later on (if you intend to stay on Celexa). Folks with OCD tend to take higher doses of SSRI's anyway. This is just my opinion, but I think the only advantage of Lexapro is half the medication your liver has to process. Which I think is a nice advantage, if you don't mind spending the money. If I went back to citalopram I probably would get liquid Lexapro because I take such small doses, the cost isn't much of a factor. But, if you don't have Rx coverage, or it is not very good, or your formulary is very restrictive, or you take high doses, or all of this-you may find generic citalopram to be a good deal.
