John, my exceedingly cynical and biased opinion is that these neurotransmitter tests are a cash-grab targeted at a desperate population.
If reliable tests were available, or even useful, I would feel certain that they would be routine practise for all doctors. Why on Earth would doctors use "educated guesswork" to both diagnose and select treatment (e.g. which antidepressant to try) if a urine test would give the answer?
