Hi, I live in southern California and bipolar and ptsd, I have been on zyprexa and wellbutrin. I'm used to being 140 lbs and I'm at 175 now. I recently started topomax but will that be enough to lose weight? I'm thinking of stopping the zyprexa too. Will topomax help with mania/mixed symptoms well enough without zyprexa?
In the past, klonopin has worked well--I took 2mg/day for years without abusing it or anything. My current pdoc won't give me any benzo's cause I used to use crystal meth (It's been 4 years) She doesn't understand that just because I used to use stimulants doesnt mean I'll abuse anything I can get my hands on.
Does anyone else here think it's unethical to prescribe drugs like trazadone/zyprexa for sleep, anxiety, etc. because they are "non addicting" when safer drugs like klonopin are available? hmm...am I making any sense? Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 29, and I think klonopin, wellbutrin, and topomax would be better in terms of less weight gain and other risk factors with zyprexa. What do you all think?
Thanks for being here!
