This is very interesting, even more so since I've just started a dopamine antagonist- Zyprexa. I havent actually heard of this hypothesis, but I have heard that derealization and depersonalization symptoms result from excessive stimulation of the 5-HT2 receptor. This is why Lamotrigine is used- often with good results. I must say my experience is consistent with this: when I added Lithium to my Nardil after a while derealization got real bad- Lithium increases serotonin. But with the dopamine thing, I'm exploring it. If Zyprexa doesn't work (for my OCD and only a bit remaing derealization after Nardil knocked it in the head) I will then go on to dopamine agonists- 1. Mirapex, 2. Bromocriptine, and more I will research.

Good luck to you!
Ace.
