I don't think the dosages are the same for RU-486's current approved use and for its use in psychotic depression. Moreover, the approved use of RU-486 involves a highly emotional, personal decision that is generally not at all a mood lifter for anyone involved. Also, as you note, there are lots of hormones involved in the beginning stages of pregnancy that really complicate things.
