Please get involved in this endeavor and help not only yourself but other fellow sufferers as well. We need a stronger voice in government! Everybody should recognize the need to sign this and lend a hand in reshaping mental health treatment in the U.S. Please write your local representatives for support. If we can't advocate for ourselves, then who will?

Paul Wellstone Mental Health Parity Act
We’re getting closer to Mental Health Parity!
The Senator Paul Wellstone Mental Health Equitable Treatment Act (S. 486/H.R. 953) has now gained a majority of cosponsors in both the House and the Senate.
Congratulations and thanks to all of you who have contacted legislators via our Web site and CapWiz or by regular mail. This important bill will ease insurance discrimination against mental disorders by requiring health plans that already provide coverage for traditional physical illness to offer the same coverage for mental illness.
Only a handful of the previous cosponsors have not signed on to the new bill, which was introduced on February 27 by Senators Pete Domenici and Edward Kennedy and Representatives Jim Ramstad and Patrick Kennedy.
However, some Members of Congress are yet to express their support for mental health parity. Please continue to contact these legislators
Continue outreach to non-cosponsors of the "Senator Paul Wellstone Mental Health Equitable Treatment Act" and urge them to cosponsor this important legislation.
Click on the link above to find the Legislative Action Center and follow the instructions to send the letter to your legislator if they are still not a cosponsor. If you prefer, you can personalize the sample letter we’ve provided with your perspective on how the parity bill would help you. If your legislators are already cosponsoring the legislation, you will be given the opportunity to thank them for doing so.
