In reply to But does the Klonopan help agorophobia?, posted by AndyD on July 16, 2003, at 21:03:09
i took small doses of it from march until now and i was agorophobic and had chronic panic attacks, i would say that the klonopin helps allievate the panic attack and keeps you calm on a day to day basis but it may be more of you just knowing that you have that safegard than anything else. generally it wont do much of anything except make you tired although i did get a sedative like high a few times which kinda felt like i was stoned although i generally did not get as paranoid and it wasnt as intense and did not last as long. the klonopin will likely not help with agorophobia, that will take cognitive behavioral therapy, (try some of the 12 step books if you dont have enough money for a psychologist, one good one if 12 steps to end panic and take back your life by denise beckfield) but if you do have an attack the klonopin will likely end it if your willing to take it and this will work no matter what environment your in, by the time the drug wears off your attack will be over, although the axiety will not, only therapy will really help with the more permanent solution.
