Postsynaptic 5-HT1a stimulation increases dopamine release, but more importantly acetylcholine release, in the frontal cortex, acetylcholine release sometimes does increase OCD symptoms... and of course, the major site of 5-HT1a receptors is on the pre-synaptic neurone, so ya gotta wonder whether it is very selective for that or not.
