Be honest, tell him you really want to try it.
I'm 38. After trying everything else, six years ago tried Nardil and for 9 months experienced the tremendous boost and sense of well-being so many posters here have written of. But then it stopped.
How soon did it stop?
It really did. I tried Parnate, which worked only briefly. Since then, I've been back on both twice with no effect. Never been off MAOIs for more than three months. Now, I've been on Remeron (no effect) for more than a year.
For more than a year with no effect? Forget that. There's heaps of drugs out there. Don't waste time with flops.
How should I reapproach the Nardil? What dosage? What adjuncts? What about Marplan?
Try 60mg Nardil for 4 weeks. No response ram it up to 90mg for another 4 weeks. Worry about adjuncts then. You could try Marplan, sorry I know little about this.
Good luck to you!
Ace.
