In reply to LEX ,did it work anxiety?, posted by 34 male on August 9, 2003, at 10:29:14
Lex can work very well for anxiety -- it helped greatly with mine at 40mg/day, but the sexual side effects prevented me from continuing it.
It's possible (perhaps probable) that 10mg is too little for you. In the above post you mentioned you've been on it for seven months -- I just don't understand why a doctor wouldn't have tried increasing your dose by now? My goodness, my doctor was quite agressive with my dose; she was willing to push it up to 80mg/day or more, if necessary.
However, you also mentioned that you think it's possible the Lex is causing you anxiety. While I think that may be unlikely after seven months (read my response to the above post), I suppose one way to find out would be to raise the dose to 20mg and see if the anxiety worsens. If so, then Lex definitely isn't for you.
I really think a higher dose of Klonopin (also as mentioned in the above post) would work great for you, though I'd like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind --
1. Which anxiety disorder(s) are you diagnosed with, and on a scale of 1-10, what is the severity? Any other info you could give me on specific symptoms would be greatly helpful as well.
2. Are you currently diagnosed with any mood disorders, personality disorders, etc.? Once again, severity from 1-10 and specific symptoms would help.
3. Which medications and/or natural remedies (and at what doses, if you can remember) have you tried in the past?
If you could just answer these two questions for me, I could make a ton of suggestions for you.
