Hello,
As Dinah said, I have tried Keppra, and it has been long enough ago, I don't remember the particulars. You would need to do a search here and find my keppra journal. It definately did not work for me. It was not good. I tried it because the pdoc said it had worked for some people. You need to understand I am in the class of bipolar patients who have not responded to the typical solutions. I had tried all the "usual suspects" and was ready to try the next one out in left field.I think the experience underscored a general, typical experience of someone with an atypical illness like bipolar disease. That is, there is no one simple solution for everybody. The process for finding a solution, is trial and error. It is a very difficult and sometimes long, frustrating and painful process (mentally and physically).
I am happy to report, after being very ill for 6 years, last year my pdoc and I added 360mg verapamil to 1000mg depakote er taken once a day at night. I am the most stable I have been in a long time. Thank god for drugs.mouse carrying a "Better Living Through Chemistry" sign
