yes, the clinic called back and the dr. said that that was the rash and that i was to stop immediately. These painful bumps had mulitplied esp on my legs and waist. I also was getting a couple of canker sores but im not sure thats related. My understanding is that there may not be one exact way that the rash starts to show, but how the neurologist described it for me is exactly what i had. Mine kind of look like acne, or measles. Little red welts and mine were painful to touch. That is what alarmed me, the pain went way into the skin.
the dr. also said if I wanted i could restart the lamictal after a week or so and that there is a possibility that the rash would not show the second time. I got no explanation as to why it wouldn't show again, but perhaps that is their experience. They said that if it did come back a second time, i was to again call their office. However I have doubts that my psychiatrist will want me to go back on it as when she has prescribed it alone (i mean w/me she is working w/ the neurologist) she has never re-prescribed it after someone developed a rash.
thanks for your concern, hope it was helpful. i am very itchy today!!
