Nardil user since 1996. It has been life saver for me as well. I started with klonopin along with and in 1999 was switched to xanex, the xanex has not had the therapudic fad as the klonopin did for me.
As for the diet the only things I have found to be problomatic is alcohol and some Over counter cold meds. I only get a little sick and usually fall asleep. sometimes they don't affect me at all.
One thing I am having trouble with is being able to function in the heat of S. CA but this probably has nothing to do with Nardil.
I found that when I quit smoking using nicotine gum I became addicted, stopped nardil for about 4 months once (unable to find pharmacy with access to it) and the craving left. The same with cola drinks. This whole thing with deppression and all is just trial and error. I went through 7 yrs of testing other meds and therapy before Nardil. You should try it out. My experience was life was not worth living as it was, but just kept on trucking. Lucky my suicide attempts were only overdosing meds and hoping, and as you can see I survived and found the Nardil / xanex combination to be the best thus far.
I will always continue to learn more info and keep up with new anti depressants and options to even better my feelings of life which are what I consider to be average most of the time with some low lows and high highs.
Just keep on plugging away till you find what works. I was even willing to go to the extream of electro shock therapy but could not afford it. If some day I find no other new meds or combination thereof and can afford it I may still try it.
And yes tommorow I may be ready to off myself again, I just look at and hold by 3 yr old little boy and struggle through another day until I feel good again.Hang in there bud, life sucks for most people, and for us it just sucks alot more.
Good luck and give the nardil a try 2months is what it took to start helping me.
