Reading a post way above where you wrote about taking Lamictal with LITHIUM, which is what my pdoc just started having me do (I had been on Lith and Depakote, the latter of which does NOT agree with me)
I thank you for posting that being on lamictal without a less activating mood stabilizer can be extremely destabilizing and that YOU are taking lithium as well and you "bless that little pink capsule with your whole heart and soul." What dosages of Lith and Lamictal are you on?
I have also not wanted to be on lithium because as you said "it's, well, lithium and 'we know what taking lithium means'.
However, I have remained on it and it is encouraging to hear you say that it has been the KEY to your stabilization AND the key to making lamictal work. I had no idea that Lith augments Lamictal.
My pdoc feels that I need lamictal for the black depressions, and lithium to keep my moods stable. The Lithium/Depakote combo (which you happened to mention also) was not working for me; I kept falling into horrible depressive episodes.
I am now hoping and praying and feeling encouraged by your testimonial that the Lithium/Lamictal combo will work for me.
Again, what doses of these meds are you on? Just curious. Thanks.
