Here's my 2 cents. Take it at night, sometime between dinner and bed time. Also, take Valerian about an hour before bed time. Valerian does not make one tired, but it makes one feel relaxed. Only take Valerian that says "standardized" on the bottle. Do this for a couple of weeks.

After a couple of weeks, you probably won't need the Valerian as much and you can experiment and see if you do better taking the Lexapro at night or in the morning. It will help your depression to the same degree no matter when you take it.
