started Parnate last night (for SP)

Posted by Nolan on September 19, 2003, at 15:33:37

I went to a psychiatrist yesterday, he seemed good. Best intake interview that I think I've had from the standpoint of him asking good questions, etc.

He has been practicing for 37 years and said he had probably not prescribed an MAOI since his residency(!) and it took him a while to find the dosage info in his PDR. He wanted to put me on Selegline or something like that, some new SSRI but I said I was eager to try an MAOI and thats about all I had to say to get the prescription. Paxil and Zoloft are the only 2 psychotropic drugs I had tried previously (Zoloft did nothing, Paxil gave hair loss)

So far I have been eating Tostitos, Oreo cookies, and drinking Sunkist (since this dang hurricane shut down every food outlet) and just slowly planning on expanding my diet. I wonder if there is a list on the internet somewhere of what brand-name foods we CAN eat, to make shopping easier?

Also picked up one of those $50 blood pressure testers at Target. Its the kind that goes around your wrist (not elbow) so the placement of the thing is pretty particular.

Oh yeah, Parnate is damn cheap. $26 for a month's supply. Awesome. I just hope this stuff works.
Thanks for reading this.
