In reply to Klonopin and Nardil questions., posted by rianny on September 23, 2003, at 4:58:45

Yeah, i had the same problems on Klonopin alone or w/ Paxil. i was basically too stupid, tired, and out of it to make good use of my diminished anxiety. And, actually, it made me even more depressed and i cannot handle that. But anyway,
i have been on Nardil for about 6 weeks now. For me it is far better than Klonopin (for SP/SA and my depression), or anything else for that matter. It has the beneficial effects of an SSRI, without much of the apathy, and those of a low dose benzo (for me) without the despair and incompetence-- mixed in with a little dopaminergic and noradrenergic stimulation, which adds a nice little touch of confidence, motivation, and concentration. Fortunately i haven't had to deal with any of the postural hypotension. The main thing i can't freaking stand (well i can stand, but.) are the anticholinergic effects: dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, and freaking memory/ word retrieval problems (which might be cuzza the GABA effects too, i duno).
The only thing that really worries and bothers me is the fact that it's so freaking difficult to get prescribed, and it seems like i can never know when there are gonna be problems getting it (filled). Right now i have to drive 2 hours to get a prescription and then call around all over to find a place that can fill it. Of course i live in a rural area so.. yeah. Good luck.
