Drinking alcohol is not really a good idea while taking lexapro. A beer now and then who knows!!!! Some do still have a drink or two. Is he one to drink a 6 pack or two time to time. Talk with the doctor on this one. You should not drink alcohol with any antidepressant. I suggest he cut way back on the beer and take the lexapro. Cant imagine living with panic attacks and drinking also. Instead of beer maybe he should see the doc and also take a benzo such as xanax, klonopin or ativan. I had severe panic attacks and have recovered. TAKE CARE!!!!!
