Effexor worker perfectly for me in the past

I had to start taking it again after 2 years and it definitely started working after about 1 week. Although it did not work positively. It definitely made me feel 100X's worse to the point of not being able to function. Something seriously has changed with me where it does not work and is having the complete opposite effect making my anxiety worse, sleeplessness and just an overall feeling of being almost debilitated. I got off Effexor and tried Amitriptyline and the same thing happened.

I also tried 5THP for a few weeks which seemed to work wonders, but my doctor told me to stop taking it as he didn't know what was in it. After stopping taking the Effexor and Amitriptyline, I would feel not so bad after about a week.

From what I have read, it is common for people to react even worse to anti-depressants like Effexor. One of the nurses I talked to said she tried 6 different AD's and they all made her feel much worse. She said screw it, stopped taking everything and has seemed to have some luck with Sam-e. So I guess everyone is different.

My psych acted like he never heard of anti-d's making the feelings worse. Strange though as it makes you think of why kids/people on Paxil have killed themselves in the past.

Probably because it was making them much worse, but they were told to "stick it out" by parents and doctors. I can tell you if I had to stick out the feelings I have had recentely after taking Effexor and Amitriptyline, at the very least I would probably be hospitilized. Good luck
