In reply to Weight gain and meds - question, posted by Penny on October 2, 2003, at 15:32:12

Penny - Weight gain could be caused by a few things. Some meds do cause a craving for carbs and sugar and others may affect your body's chemistry. However, some weight gain can be attributed to the lack of motivation and physical activity in depressed individuals and the increase in stress eating (comfort foods).

There are a ton of posts related to weight issues and meds on this board. You may want to do a quick search of Dr. Bob for more information.

Hope this helps!
