> well, i saw the doc today and she put me on nortriptyline. i've never been on a TCA, but i've been on everthing else - ssri, snri, mood stabalizers, stimulants, maoi, anti-psychotics. none of them have helped much, or if they did they pooped. she said if this doesn't help, she is going to recommend ECT. i feel pretty hopeless. after so many failed trials, it's difficult to see any possibility of feeling better. i'm just feeling beaten down by the constant anhedonia and lifelessness. any experience with nortriptyline would be appreciated.

Craig Allen,

I was on Nortriptyline for about 1 and 1/2 years after ECT treatments. It worked great for me and no antidepressants had worked for me before. Constipation is a problem with that med. Currently I take Celexa and Seroquel. I, too, was a lifelong depressive but have been in remission now for two whole years!!!
