I took one Celexa pill a week ago and had to stop immediately because I was having a terrible reaction to it... so I've been on Ativan every day, which has the benefit of me falling asleep and not remembering my dreams at all (a big change from my pre-Celexa existence). Didn't take the Ativan yesterday, and I had very detailed, clear dreams involving people I knew and memories of past places and situations. I woke up twice during these, the first time I felt a great sense of relief (I'd been worried that if I got the vivid dreams, they would be nightmares). But the second time I fell asleep, I woke up mentally but my body didn't follow, and I noticed I was having a hard time breathing- this is apparently called sleep paralysis/apnea- and it scared the shit out of me. I got a jolt of adrenaline and it enabled me to move. I don't know if I was in the midst of a panic attack during this time, which could explain the lack of respiration, but I'll tell you something, I got up and took the Ativan and I'm damn well not trying to go off it for at least another week. God damn SSRIs.
