i've been on Nardil for about 2 months now, mostly at 60mg. It's been great-- the most effective med i've ever used. And to my surprise and delight i haven't experienced any side effects other than anorgasmia, cognitive problems, and anticholinergic effects (i thought for sure i would, from everything i've read)-- though these are fairly pronounced. Well i guess that's kind of alot of side effects still, but they're not too bad and i thought i'd have more (and well worth the benefits of the drug). Anyway, i have questions:
1A) What are the primary reasons for the cognitive difficulties (trouble remembering things that occurred after or shortly before starting the Nardil [i can't remember exactly]; considerable word-recall problems/ aphasia; and just a difficulty in articulating my thoughts well in a reasonable amount of time)? These are extremely troublesome and the worst of my side effects. But do you think they are more a result of Nardil's effects on GABA or from its anticholinergic effects?
1B) Is there anything i can do to combat this without substantially increasing my anxiety?! (As a stimulant would probably do). i tried some Huperzine A since it is supposedly an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (i.e., cholinergic), but it's done nothing. Maybe it's not a good brand though, i duno.
2) Is there any way to alleviate all the anticholinergic side effects (constipation, bad dry mouth & nose, blurred vision, etc.)? There should be dammit.
*If anyone can help at all thank you SOOO much. i sincerely appreciate it. (i know these are difficult questions probably).
