generic prozac not effective?

Hi all, I was told by my psychdoc today that I need to be taking brand name prozac, that the capsule of the generic brand causes less of the drug to be absorbed. Well, my insurance won't pay for a brand name when there is a generic available. Has anyone else experienced this lesser effect on generic prozac? If so, what about putting the powder in orange juice or somethin and gagging it down that way?
