Hi folks,
I'm a newbie here so bear with me. I stopped Paxil (cold turkey--yeah, I know) on October 13. Stopped due to an insurance change (absurd deductible) but no intentions of resuming it. I wasn't crazy about the way it made me feel while on it and I'm even less ecstatic about the way I feel while withdrawing from it.Coupla questions:
1. How long can I expect to feel like this?
2. Is there anything (or things) I can either ask my doctor for, or purchase OTC in a vitamin store, that will help me with the following: a) a complete inability to focus on my work (or anything else, for that matter); b) a frequent (several times daily) desire to smash the living heck out of everything within reach; c) the feeling that I might as well take a nap because nothing I do has any meaning?
3. Are there any antidepressants out there that don't make you worse than you were before you started taking them?
4. Are there any natural/herbal drugs or supplements I can take that will keep my moods in relative control once the Paxil is out of my system? My original diagnosis, made two years ago by my doctor, who is an internist, was generalized anxiety disorder. I'm wondering whether I have some kind of rapid-cycling bipolar II thing going on, though. My mood shifts in about the same amount of time it takes to switch on a lamp. I go from cheerful, to fatigued/depressed, to irritable--all repeated numerous times throughout every day. Very short fuse, too, which I really detest.
Any suggestions? (Other than moving to a cave in the Himalayas, that is.)
