Thanks for your reply! As an engineer, I've been struggling with brand vs. generic. The engineer in me wants to believe that if the active compound in the generic is the chemical equivalent and isomeric equivalent to the brand pharmaceutical, then it ought to have the same effects. Of course, my insurance company will only pay for the generic, so I've got some financial basis for wanting to believe that the generic dextroamphetamine is just as good as the branded formulation. Guess I'll just have to cough up the money. It's that or quit taking dex altogether. But since it has turned out to be such a godsend, I'm not sure I can go back to the way things were. (I do miss the constant music in my head, though. It was like having my own personal soundtrack for life.)
