Definitely an antidepressant for me, but tolerance can build fast, so just be cautious in using Xanax. It's great for me as an occasional adjunct.

BTW, I've never had a problem with Xanax, just found that I had to increase the dose a lot to achieve the same effect, so I use it sparingly.
