Hello,

I suspect that the vast majority of people who take psychotropic medications could manage without them. Most of the regulars on this board are pretty ill, and are probably not representative of the many people with mild to moderate depression who benefit from medication or therapy.

I think you should feel good about the fact that you have a choice whether to use a medication or not. If you don't like the way you feel on Lexapro, you can just stop taking it. If the medication works for you, you might find being less depressed to be a huge change for the better.

I suggest giving it a try.
