Lorazapan (Ativan) is the gold standard for anxiety control for me. If your doctor won't prescribe benzos and the anxiety is very bad I suggest trying low dosages of Zyprexa. It is a great anti-anxiety drug and the antipsychotic side-effects shouldn't be much of a problem at a low dose.
