Kathryn,I would say it took at least 3-4 weeks. Lack of ability to concentrate was one of my symptoms that prompted my doctor to prescribe the lexapro in the first place. I would agree that one has to be patient - I was a little disappointed when nothing seemed to be happening in the first few weeks (except some side effects), but now at about 6 weeks I do feel better, including the concentration thing. Unfortunately, a decreased libido is a problem for me, but I'll deal with that later - I'm just grateful to be starting to climb out of the deep, miserable funk I was in for many months.
