I don't take pramipexole myself. However pramipexole is more and more used in the treatment of bipolar depression with or without lamotrigine. It acts quickly (with a low risk of switching) and has a very safe profile. I have a relative of mine who has been on Mirapex for 1 year and he just swears by it.
