Xanax can work well for this, but usually only in the short-term. Tolerance develops quickly to its hypnotic (sleep-inducing) effect.
I assume you're taking Desoxyn, the only currently marketed prescription methamphetamine I know of. This stuff, as with all amphetamines, will lose its anorectic effect after quite a short period (i.e. several weeks) of continuous use. I suggest talking to a doctor and having something legitimately prescribed, if at all possible. Though believe me, I understand completely if the expense is out of the question for you.
That said, Ambien and Sonata are more selective, less tolerance-building versions of benzodiazepines specifically used as sleep aids... though that may be oversimplifying it a bit. Anyway, these are quite commonly prescribed (esp. Ambien) to aid in sleep. And then there are also the noradrenergic alpha-agonists, clonidine (Catapres) and guanfacine (Tenex), which are normally used for hypertension but have shown to be quite useful in aiding sleep when amphetamines (or another psychostimulant) are keeping you awake.
