What is a brain zap? It is defined as sensory disorder and is considered a less common side effect of some meds such as Efexxor XR. I think perhaps the participants of this web site may have come up with the term "brain zap", but I am not for sure. The "zap" reminds me of an electrical shock that I once experienced when trying to repair a faulty cord on a lamp. The zaps (in my case)happen when I move my eyes and they are felt in the back of my head. A sound occurs with each "zap" which sounds like a single shake of a salt shaker.
