I have recurrent chronic fatigue syndrome. The pain is not constant, but it was especially bad last October. I don't think the Neurontin helped much. There were a couple of nights I did not sleep *at all*. However, my pdoc thinks it should help with pain.
She also thinks it should help my anxiety. I'm taking 200 mg. in the morning, but it doesn't have much effect for that either. I'll be adding another 100 mg. in a couple of days.
I just saw a rheumatologist who thinks tricyclic ADs or Wellbutrin help pain. I think amitriptyline is often prescribed because it's sedating.
Ultracet helped the pain much more than anything else. It's a combination of tramadol (a narcotic pain-killer) and tylenol. I was taking 1/2 doses and it took the edge off.
