In reply to Therapy in addition to meds?, posted by EtktRide on February 3, 2004, at 16:45:12
Hi:
I have same/similar question regarding 'Psycho-therapy.' Unfortunately, I too never able to find the right match while I found the RIGHT pdoc. who was able to find the RIGHT med. combo. for my often, difficult dx., Bp II with rapid cycler.
In my personal experience along with the reading the others', there is NO good point to get/seek therapy if there is NO desire to change things any of therapists suggested. The most important thing is whether you REALLY want to change the life you have. In my case, TIME is ONLY answer that in turn enables me to change/improve the life I once cherished. Because, I just sufferred from the thought of having Bp was enough, ... not able to focus other things.
However, I believe that there is a good way to improve one's life by getting a good/right therapist, ... Just I couldn't meet/find a therpist with whom I wanted to talk and confer any of my problems.
