Try 600mg 4x/day (2400mg). If that doesn't work, up it to 800mg 4x/day (3200mg). If no response from that, going to 4800mg probably won't do anything. It's best to take Neurontin 4x/day instead of 3x/day not because of half-life concerns but because a lower percentage of the dose is absorbed the higher each individual dose is.
